ImageMaster™ Architecture

  • Core Engine: ImageMaster™ is written in the Microsoft FoxPro 4gl language utilizing advanced SQL queries and fully optimized Rushmore technology. Customized versions of the ImageMaster™ application are available to OEMs and VARs who wish to integrate the ImageMaster™ functionality with their products.
  • Viewing Engine: An ultra fast decompression and image manipulation module is included within ImageMaster™. Additional viewers for specialized applications can be easily integrated via a standard plug-in API.
  • Viewing Formats: TIFF, Adobe PDF, PCX, CALS, JPEG, BMP, and MIL are supported using the FullView32 Classic Viewing Engine included with ImageMaster™.
  • Scanning Engine: A high performance custom scanning interface provides hands-off scanning for most TWAIN and all Kofax attached scanners. ImageMaster™ features common scanning controls and a consistent user interface regardless of what brand, make, or model scanner is used.
  • Imaging Engine: Supports images stored on any magnetic device or group of devices, any OS readable optical or magneto-optical device, WORM, CD-ROM, and DVD. Integral support is provided for removable and non-removable devices, including intelligent error handling for these types of devices. Jukeboxes and CD-ROM towers are supported. ImageMaster™ also supports SAN and NAS devices.
  • Print Capture Engine: ImageMaster™ can capture print output from any application and create a scanned document representation of the data. ImageMaster™ includes a native Windows printer object that supports all of the standard Windows printer device properties such as page size, orientation, and resolution in both color and black and white.
  • 3rd Party Control: ImageMaster™ can be controlled by any 3rd party application that can call a batch file. In addition, ImageMaster™ is an OLE Automation Server for rich control by other Windows programs. ImageMaster™ also features a silent DDE Server to provide embedded document management services for any vertical application software.

ImageMaster™ System Requirements

  • Operating System: ImageMaster™ runs on Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, and XP.
Note: Windows IA and Windows 64-bit versions are not supported at this time.
  • CPU: Any supported by the underlying operating system. Recent generation Pentium, Xenon, Sempron, Turion, and Opteron processors are recommended for scanning stations.
  • Memory: The baseline memory requirements of the operating system are all that is required to run ImageMaster™. Additional memory above the minimum (at least 1 gigabyte) is highly recommended for scanning stations.
  • Video: Any video subsystem supported by Windows works well with ImageMaster™. No special drivers are required. If available, ImageMaster™ can take advantage of multiple screen configurations which are especially well suited for the bulk scanning and post-indexing features of the software.
  • Hard Disk: ImageMaster™ requires 25 megabytes of storage at each workstation for the locally installed client. On the file server, ImageMaster™ requires 60 megabytes for the initial software load plus 35 kilobytes for each scanned page. Documents can be either co-located with the database or stored on a separate imaging server.
  • Mouse: Not required, but is supported and highly recommended. ImageMaster™ is fully keyboard controllable for the utmost in performance.
  • Supported Scanners: ImageMaster™ can scan documents from most TWAIN and all Kofax connected devices, including USB, SCSI, KF series, and Adrenaline interfaces. See the Approved Scanner List for the most up-to-date list of tested scanners.
  • Monitor: A 17" CRT or 15" LCD (or larger) monitor is recommended for optimal use of ImageMaster™. Scanning stations should be configured with this size or larger. Viewing-only and occasional use workstations can be configured with any monitor that is supported by the operating system.
  • Remote Access: ImageMaster™ can be operated remotely through Citrix or Terminal Server to provide secure, authenticated, and managed access to documents from remote locations and across the internet.
